The pumkins are coming

So, this summer, someone graciously or maliciously planted pumpkin in my pizza box. I am trying to support it, but its over taking my cucumber plant and it officially dwarf my tomatoes and basil. I want to pull them all out!!

The other day, my friend and I replanted 2 plants... there are at least two more still there. And then I found this quote.

Produce great pumpkins the pies will follow later. ~ Unknown



Would a true gardener just up root them with out replanting them for the sake of the remaining crop?
