The Big Dirt Mountain II
Over the weekend, I used some of the soil from the big dirt mountain to filled a tree pit. The students have such an active imagination. During our weekly garden scavenger hunt, as they were listing all the animals in the garden today they surprised me with a bear on the list.
"A bear? I asked. Yes, and we see the track it left. Here is its cave."
Today the Big Dirt Mountain was a bear cave. The bear had tunnel all the way beneath. It is hibernating.
I continue to listen what the bear would find to eat in the garden (our rasberries and apples) andhow it escaped from the Bronx Zoo (which less than 5 blocks away).
I thank God for my students wonderful imagination, they inspire my next lesson plans. (A Insect Circle of Life)
