What was the purpose of the Cuban Revolution?

That depends on how you see the Cuban Revolution. Was it what happened before 1959? Was it in the 60s? Is still happening like the government usually says?
For me, the goals of the Revolution evolved, it goes like this:
  1. Remove Batista from government
  2. Implement the Constitution of 1940
  3. Address the many issues Cuba faced back then, namely:
    1. The need of an Agrarian Reform
    2. The excessive control of America in Cuban business
    3. Inequality
    4. Improve the educational system
  4. Protect the country from American aggressions
  5. Embrace a socialist/communist system where equality was of paramount importance
  6. Survive
Now, some people may say that it was all fake, that the Castros were only interested in ruling. And maybe that’s the truth, but the Cuban Revolution was real in the hearth of millions of Cubans who honestly believed (and many still believe) there was a better way of doing stuff.
