The Month of April
April's thyme
The month of April was a season of awakening and a season of sustainability. Change came to stay and it was unexpected. My values were tested but I remained standing. Even my computer went under extensive surgery. However, I am back. Regrouping and motivated.
Last month in a nut shell:
I had my first community meeting: Eat.Learn.Grow at West Farms Library - Attempting to tackle two goals in one. My friends and I are attempting to restart a community garden as well as create an organization that will highlight free and low-cost resources for our community.
My dad got sick and I had to care for him. Parents get sick all the time, but its scary when you must care for them. (I am grateful that I still live at home.)
I conducted a food survey amongst my friends. My findings: I realized my family does eat more fruit and vegetables than most of my family. I thought most people at vegetables with at least their dinner meal and fruit for snacks at least once a day... but that's not so apparently. We really are healthy.
But does eating 5 fruits or vegetables a day really make you healthy?
I learnt how to make onions from scratch. The first batch was delicious.
Freddie Gray died and Baltimore is under martial law?
and lastly after waiting all month, I enjoyed a beautiful birthday!!!
