French Fries with BBQ sauce

Food memories seldom live up to your expectations. As I walked out of work on thursday, I passed someone eating french fries with BBQ sauce. The smell brought back childhood memories of Sunday afternoons. Every Sunday, I got my allowance before service let out and sometimes that including money for  Sunday dinner.Usually I ate with my family but once in a while I would eat together with my best friends. Two of my friends would often be eating fries, pizza or beef paties while we ate a full dinner of pork chops, collard greens and potato salad.
This is my earliest memory of choice and accessibility to food. Perhaps, its becasue the parents didn't stress the importance of a balance meal, and a child will choose junk food. Or they didn't have or want to spend their money on a plate of food. It's a combination of both, but most the latte. My friends opted for french fries when they didn't want to spend $4.00 for a church dinner.
Anyways back to the french fries. These french fries are unique becasue the chinese store makes their own BBQ sauce that doesn't taste any thing like BBQ sauce.
Needless to say, after a week on my mind I decided to indulge in this light snack. While transfering buses, I entered the nearest Chinese store. Simply saying "French fries with BBQ sauce" got me very excited!! However... The let down was so great... words cannot explain the mixture of feelings. The sauce was disgusting! The fries seem to lack  crispiness??... I don't know. Perhaps my taste buds have changed?

Perhaps, I felt guilty eating them- which is why I couldn't enjoy them. Furthermore, later that night I noticed a pimple on my right cheek! This magnified how cheated I felt. After splurging and buying this unnecessary snack... which I didn't enjoy or finish eating, plus I got a pimple I went home and made a smoothie.
My smoothie gave me the energy boost needed to study. I felt restored as I stuffed the bullet with a cucumber, an apple and a spotted banana.

Yet, I still am waiting for the perfect french fries with BBQ sauce.
