Falling FoR Flowers: Dividing Chrysthumums

At the beginning of the fall season I was commissioned to plant Fall Flowers. My choice Chrysthumums.
The garden at my senior center didn't really plant much flowers, because the seniors opted to produce vegetables - even in our  designated flower bed. However, after we had a miracoulous gladious experience, they begin to express their wish to see flowers decorate the garden. (Coincidentately, this desire happened as the vegetables began to produce less, just saying). So, I added another  flower planting workshop, to my schedule and headed to the Florero to buy some Chrysthumums.
Also, called mums, these flowers are a great investment. First, season extension plant every garden program should have. As cold weather and dark nights become the norm folks miss the days of summer. Having a bright flower garden in the cold helps passerbyers take special notice of your garden. I noticed that at this time folks want to savor every contact with nature. Secondly, if (and you should) buy the prenianal variety, more mums will come back each year.

This first photo is of the first bunch that was divided. Some mums have more than one root ball in a container. If you notice that then divided the plant accordingly.
This is how it looked after we planted the half..
