Power mapping CD 7

While I was organizing with the Northwest Bronx Community Clergy Coalition this summer, we created this power map. It helped us understand who had what power to do fund what, to introduce what legislation and who was easily accessible. We worked around the school to prison pipeline and health justice.

All this week my family and friends have been discussing the election for a new City Council member for Distict 6 and District 7. My prayer is that God allow the person who will pass legislation and funding in our favor to win. 

 CD 6 and CD 7  is in a phase of hyper -development, its unconscionable how residents are being displaced from gardens, cathedrals was demolished torn for "mixed -income affordable" housing and vacant stores dot our commercial corridors. If this continues in 5 years, the demographics of the CD6 will have either changed drastically or the quality of life will have decreased even further.
