Her harvest and auto parts
This administration plans to build 300,00 housing units. The extreme push to build housing on every piece of vacant or manufacturing space is designed as if everyone's works, worships from home and has food delivered. Where will we congregate to build community? Where will we sell our wares? Where will manufacturing happen in NYC?
The rezoning have oliberated community spaces for work and recreation. This is clearly seen in the lost of auto shops throughout the Bronx. Now, we have car mechanics taking their work to the streets. Literally, they are adding to the race for a parking space. It is of course very dangerous to jack a car up and fix it in the street. However, it does add publicity and build community as young men gather to learn. I wonder how we will combat crime, become self-sufficent, build social cohesion etc. if opportunities for meaningful work continue to disappear.
