Advocacy at City Hall: Creating A Healthier Streetscape

How can we create a healthier city? Advocates for open plazas,  green jobs, and slower traffic see the answer in universal curbside composting!

On  April 28th environmental justice advocates joined with Council Members Hanif, Powers, Sanitation Committee members for the introduction of a slate of legislation aimed at moving the City towards its Zero Waste goals. The package included a reintroduction of the CORE Act, mandating and reporting on Zero Wate, and a universal curbside organics bill.

It was great to run into familiar faces and see the growth of Pratt alumni! Among the hundred or so advocates that showed NYCEJA,  Green Feen Organix, Open Plans, Yes!We Can and Transportation Alternatives staff were also present..
