looking in the gutter
This blog is about all the unusual things and different animals I have seen.
One day I was walking to school and I found a seashell in the gutter. Another day, walking home I spotted an iguana resting on the side walk. It was bobbing his head up and down.
Apparently iguanas live in the gutter, but they come out on the sidewalk to balance out their temperature. Isn't that cool?
My host mother is afraid of them though. Somehow when we were talking we got to talking about rats so I guess they aren´t very welcome around here. AND I also bats!!! They have bats.... they look like birds except the wings and they have a tail. Is the extra part of them called a tail? I don't know but they look exactly as they should if you have ever seen Anastasia or other cartoons with bats in them. Also, I saw pigeons. I was so shock. PIGEONS?? Here in Costa Rica, of all the things to see. I was very disappointed to see pigeons, but then I got happy they reminded me of home.
Speaking of seeing things: I have yet to see any street signs. They have stop signs, but nothing else. None of the street corners have names. Even when I go to "el Centro" none of them have names. And there is also only one stop light. I do see stop signs though. Everyone gives directions by major monuments. This is cool, because I do that anyway.

It almost remind me of Bethal, Alaska. The town wasn't that developed so there was one main road but thank God we had lights and signs.
