A poised proposal prose of self-peace.

I am worried about my brothers. my cousins. my dads. my friends. you my love, I am afraid for you. You all could be Eric Garner or Emmett Till. Killed without justice served. Traumatize by arrest, just because you skin is brown.

But, can this be bigger than race. Could the issue be that people are abusing their power or not sharing wealth? Do you know what it means to be politically black? Does this outrage begin and end with police brutality or corrupt politicians.

My faith in the US justice system was shaken, after hearing the verdict but I am not calling for chaos. My love for my community has grown, because it seems we have awakened. And awake we must, for too long we have been asleep, full off the success of others. While we are bound still not receiving basic respect. We each have power to change our destiny. However, when you are content denying Jesus Christ, content living pay check to pay check, content to chase dreams that aren't ground in reality, content living a façade as long as no one embarrasses you... these tribulations and more will come. Each time you will feel burden and helpless. Because its just not about police brutality or corrupt politicians.

Its about you. "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." (James 4: 1-3) When you seek what is not your destiny you create negative energy. Be the change you wish to see in the world. You can change your circumstances. Be willing to sacrifice, and keep on looking for a way to obtain your dreams. Where there's a will there is a way. Stand or die trying. Injustice for one is in justice for all. The only one stopping you is yourself.
