The amazing Rosa Parks story too few people still know

In honor of Rosa Parks, I wanted to post a fact sheet about her contribution to American society.
  1. Mrs. Rosa Parks came from a family of folks who expressed their dissatisfaction with the status quo and acted on behalf of the oppressed.
  2. Self-driven Rosa Parks went back to receive her high school diploma after she left school in the 11th grade to care for her ill-grandmother.
  3.  Mrs. Parks along with her husband were known, respected activists in their community. They supported various causes one being defending the Scottsboro Boys.
  4. Mrs. Parks was not the first, but one of many blacks who refused to give up their seats as an act of civil disobedience. When she was arrested it was the 1st step apart of a planned organized legal action to challenge "Jim Crow laws".
  5. Mrs. Parks was chosen to represent the movement and thus unity the Black community because of all the facts above. Her action as a young lady was not spontaneous and but pre-meditated as she had incidents with bus drivers before.
Here is also a link to a concise but great article chronicling the works of Rosa Parks.
