Tree Pit Signs gone wrong
Every year we encourage residents to put up signage to beautify the neighborhoods and to ask folks to curb their dogs. One monday, after our two week beautification push I walked around to see where did the signs, mulch and flowers end up. I was shocked to see where the signs ended. Did folks really post up our handmade, print signs? Would neighbors really response and curb their dogs. Down 178ths, up prospect ave, turn up 179th up Mapes ave I was happy to see how we had transform the neighborhood. Not a lot of signs again this year. Then I decided to walk up towards Tremont ave. The homeowners along this stretch decided to take the sign into the tree. I was excited as I looked down and saw a row of neatly mulched trees, on closer inspection I cringed. There were five signs neatly tacted to each elm along the avenue. One special tree boast two signs. This group was my newest residents groups... I decided this wasn't a battle that I should take on. Lord's will, the tree is strong enough to bare a couple of nails.
