Ingredients: Rice, Sofrito, Pigeon peas, Ham, tomatoes paste, herbs, onions and peppers and a caldero*
Optional: olives, sazon (I use sazon or just my regular salt and bay leaf, oregano herb mix)
From scratch Recipe: Delish Dlites: Arroz con gandules I tried this recipe the first time and it came out perfect. My church sister also walked me through the process twice before she left to celebrate her anniversary. (I was covering her kitchen.)
If you want to follow a similar recipe w/o the added then read Goya Recipe. Also, I don't use sazon regularly... porque no es mi gusto. But to get the restaurant authentic flavor I use it when I make arroz con gandules for my church, job or any public facility.
Subsittues: If you don't have your sofrito ready just blend cilantro, garlic, peppers, and onions.
