Harriett Tubman choices
Food for thought:
After Harriett Tubman escape from slavery. She risked her life over 10 times, to rescue 60 members of her immediate family and close friends. I knew this brave abolicionista was also Humanitarian, but I didn't know she was a New Yorker. Harriett Tubman also decided to live in New York, and helped open a Home for the aging in her town of Auburn, NY. She eventually moved into this center; what an example of a practicing CEO. (She relied on the social services, she sold.)
However, did you know she carried a shot gun for two reason. First and most obvious: for her protection in case of a shoot out with slave owners. The second reason was in case another slave became indecisive after leaving the plantation. There was only one way for them to go up. Up north or up to to meet the maker.
abolicionista: a person who favors the abolition of a practice or institution, especially capital punishment or (formerly) slavery
