Square foot gardening and starting transplants in doors.

When trying to start a group garden its best to start in the early spring while one have time for mistakes. By the time the heat comes folks are looking for the garden to be bursting with fruits and vegetables. This year is my first year starting completely from seed  as  far as sowing seeds directly into the bed; in the pizza box(my garden beds)
As you can see in the picture above I did start from seed. I did this workshop early April when it was still a little cold outside. I 've used milk cartons, tissue paper rolls and the usual classic seed starting plastic tray to start transplants. In the picture I started bush beans in a milk carton last year at Moore Sr. Garden. Although beans don't transplant well, I almost always grow beans in every class experiment as most beans germinate. At work I continue to plant from transplant. In the interest of time and morale it helps when the plant just needs to be nurtured.
Two plants that transplant well are tomatoes and peppers. One hint when growing them is that peppers need lots of sun and tomatoes need lots of water. One that note Zucchini's do not transplant as well and they do not like a lot of water.
