Neighborhood Engagement Day 8/24
I am organizing a block party at my church again this year. My church often has fundraisers selling or giving away food, clothes and resources. However, this time we are closing down the street out. It will be our 3rd year having a block party. The goal is to provide an atmosphere for neighborhoods to enjoy food and fellowship with one another. One way to build community is say hi, our neighborhood needs more places and events where we can interact. New Dominicans need to meet young Arabs and Africans who are also new immigrants. Old and new residents alike can come enjoy food, music and find out information. This is my to-do list...
- Apply for Block party permits
- Create flyer
- Find partners or a sponsor for the event
- Invite Vendors to table: Housing, health insurance, jobs
- Set up a team of 5 to co-lead
- Chef, Clean-up, Greeters
- Ask for donations
- Post flyers
