Keeping Poinsetta's over the weekend

My boss brought Poinsettias to decorate the office. Most of us just generously watered on friday. However, my co-worker placed a large cup of water in the midst of the poinsettia after misting them with water. She says  they will automatically drink water from the atmosphere... who knew?
